A Message from the Chair
Fall brings changing colors, cooler weather, and the Thanksgiving holiday. At Children’s of Mississippi, we’re thankful for the support from organizations and individuals that allows us to provide state-of the art, high-quality care and an exceptional patient experience.
We’ve launched the Stephanie and Mitchell Morris Center for Cleft and Craniofacial Research and Innovation, which will facilitate the availability of the most advanced cleft and craniofacial treatment to Mississippi’s children. We’re treating patients like Cameron Kittrell of Pearl with a newly-approved, minimally-invasive heart valve in the Children’s Heart Center’s pediatric catheterization lab, and we’re beginning renovations to the Children’s of Mississippi Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders that will nearly double the number of examination rooms and provide patients with more privacy and comfort. In the Batson Tower at Children’s of Mississippi, we’re improving patients’ experiences by offering MyChart Bedside, a tablet-based app that offers patients and parents information about their care and treatments as well as educational and entertaining content. Patients recently enjoyed a visit from the 2021 Sanderson Farms Championship winner, Sam Burns. Since Sanderson Farms, now Wayne-Sanderson Farms, became title sponsor of the event, nearly $15 million has been donated to Friends of Children’s Hospital.
Advancements such as these allow Children’s of Mississippi to be a resource to pediatricians around the state. This Fall, we’re also grateful to have you all as partners in our mission to improve children’s health. Please feel free to contact us whenever our care team can be of assistance.
Sincerely,
Mary B. Taylor, M.D., M.S.C.I.
